  1. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, sweetheart! Did you receive my Christmas Card?

Your photos tell a wonderful story of love, happiness and contentment. I am so happy for you. Your host family is quite handsome and I can feel the love they have for each other. Truly, you have been most fortunate. Your photos do a great job of describing the beautiful place in which you are living. I especially liked the photos of the old kiln factory and the corn harvesting.

I am thrilled that you have experienced little of the emotional slump that was expected. I attribute that to your perseverance, positive attitude, and the love extended by your host family. You are building memories and friendships that will last the rest of your life. I assume your German language fluency is coming right along, too. That must be very satisfying to you. I can't wait to hear you holding forth in your adopted language when you return home.

I wish I had some exciting news from the home front for you, but it's blah, blah, blah. Grateful for good health and a clear mind,of course.

When I heard that your Mom sent you some molas for gifts for your host family, I started rummaging around in my boxes to find some photos that we took during the time we spent with the Cuna in the San Blas. I'll assemble them and email a few in case you'd like to show them around, okay?

Well, keep those emails and blogs coming. You're the only thing that's happening these days as far as I am concerned. Remember, I love you with all my heart, and think of you daily.

    Love,
    Paw Paw

  2. The pictures are just great, Katy. What a full life you have there with your host family. You must have gotten the best host family ever as you look quite happy with them. Seems your holidays have been happy and fun ones and I hope the New Year will be as exciting, busy and happy as this past few months. I will be seeing your mom, Kevin and Oma Shirley at the end of this month in Biloxi and we are all looking forward to it. Love and miss you and look forward to your Facebook posts and, of course, these wonderful blogs. Love you a bunch!
